All charges of sexual abuse against R Kelly have been dropped by the Cook County State’s Attorney. As of now, reasons for the charges to be dropped have not been disclosed but according to close sources, many are speculating that charges have been dropped due to extortion accusations faced by opposing lawyer Michael Avenatti who was arrested because he allegedly tried to extort Nike. Apparently Avenatti May have also tried to extort R Kelly as well. Close sources reveal before he surrendered the new “smoking gun” evidence which was a video of R Kelly sleeping with another underage girl, he attempted to extort R Kelly for $100,000.
Although all of R Kelly’s charges in Chicago have been dropped, he still has pending civil suits in Atlanta and New York. This is a huge step forward for the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer. Kelly was tried on 14 counts of child pornography and ultimately acquitted in 2008.
