Burna Boy Breaks New Record as He Set to Perform At 2021 Grammy Awards

Burna Boy, arguably the best musician in the Nigerian Music Industry in the current dispensation of the most successful and booming music industry in Africa is confirmed and set to perform at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Officially, Grammy Award has announced and shortlist Burna Boy among the artistes to perform at the premiere ceremony of the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Details of the 2021 Grammys Premiere Ceremony have been announced. The pre-show will be livestreamed on GRAMMY.com at 3 p.m. Eastern on March 14, ahead of the main telecast, which broadcasts at 8 p.m. Eastern. Jhené Aiko is set to host, and there’ll be performances from Burna Boy, Lido PimientaPoppyRufus Wainwright, and more. In addition, the Premiere Ceremony will kick off with a huge ensemble of previous Grammy nominees (including Gregory Porter, Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, Regina Carter, and Kamasi Washington) performing Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)” in tribute to the late legend.

Hopefully this year, the Africa Giant crooner will bring the Grammy home for a huge celebration and if he does, he will be the first Nigerian to have won the biggest music award in the world.

For the records, Burna Boy is the first Nigerian to earn back to back Grammy nomination and first Afrobeat acts to perform at the event.
