Alhaji Morenikeji Salami has been shot by some Fulani herdsmen while driving to her new work-site around Idofe, Oru-Awa area of Ijebu North LGA of Ogun.
According to DAILY POST, Salami was ambushed by suspected herdsmen and sustained some injuries after they fire shots at her. Her thumb was cut off by one of the shots being fired. The herdsmen also pierced Salami’s jaw leaving her in severe pains.
One daughter of the woman narrated that her mother played dead for the herdsmen to go before she managed to get down from the car and seek help.
She said;
“After she managed to alight from the car, she saw a tipper lorry and flagged it down. The driver rescued her and took her to Oru,”
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesman for Ogun Police affirmed the incident saying three herdsmen were nabbed at night after came back to the cattle they left behind. They are presently at the police headquaters, Eleweran.
