Naija Music Industry has lost one of it’s brightest.. Hip-hop producer, Harry Mordi popularly known as HCode is dead. Said to be in his late 20’s – he passed on last night after suffering from a severe asthma attack. Delta born, HCode (who majored in multimedia production in the UK) came into the music scene after he returned from London in 2007.
He went on to form a group named ‘H2O’ and they dropped a single titled “Naira”, that subsequently earned them paid tours.
He went solo and subsequently went on to earn his deserved spot in the Naija music Industry, taking credits for producing songs like Saucekid’s “Na Me Be Fine Boy”, Vector’s “Get Down” featuring Tuface Idibia, Olamide’s “Unite” and he is known to have worked with other top Naija music acts like General Pype,Waje etc.
His friend from back in the days, Olamide, confirmed the death of the music producer on his Instagram page with a picture (HCode & Olamide pictured above) and caption “R.I.P my homie.. My dawg from way back u going to heaven”.
Rest in peace bro!
